SweepWise Privacy Policy

SweepWise - Duplicate File Finder & Organizer ("SweepWise") is a Windows app made by Intently Labs. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. In short: SweepWise does not collect, send or sell any personal data. Your files never leave your PC.

Data SweepWise processes on your PC

Your files. To find duplicates, SweepWise reads the names, sizes and dates of files in the folders you choose, and reads file contents to calculate checksums. To find similar photos, it reads photos to calculate a small visual fingerprint and to show thumbnails. To organize folders by date, it may read the date a photo was taken from the photo's metadata. All of this happens in memory on your PC. File contents, checksums, fingerprints and thumbnails are never uploaded or shared.
Your settings (chosen folders, filters, organize rules, theme and similar options) are saved in a file on your PC so they are remembered next time.
Your history. So you can undo actions, SweepWise keeps a list of the actions you took and the file paths involved (for example, where a file was moved from and to). It is stored only on your PC, and you can clear it at any time from the History page.

SweepWise only changes files when you ask it to: it moves files you selected to the Recycle Bin or to a folder you choose, replaces duplicates with links when you ask, and organizes folders you choose. SweepWise has no servers, accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking, and it works fully offline.

Purchases

SweepWise is sold through the Microsoft Store. Payments are handled by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Intently Labs does not receive your payment details.

Support emails

If you email us for support, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we don't share them with anyone.

Deleting your data

You can clear the action history inside the app. Uninstalling SweepWise removes its settings and history. Your own files are never removed by uninstalling.

Children

SweepWise does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
